I appeciate a finely-honed metaphor as much as the next heretic, but what?

Is it only a sin if you do it alone? What if your partner is with you? What if they're with you, but hiding behind the curtains in a peculiar voyeuristic sex game? What if they do it for you? Are you only going to wear it out anyway and end up with a costly bill for crankshaft replacement?
