Statistics and information pertaining to the Strokes gig last night at Alexandra Palace for the information and edification of the general public.
Minutes spent at beginning of evening wondering if I was getting too old for these kind of shennanigans: 7
Minutes spent wondering the same thing after the band started to play: 00000.43
Most attractive member of the band: Julian Casablancas. I realise this is not strictly related to the gig last night, I just like to think about it now and again.
Seconds he carried on singing for halfway through the second song before he reliased that all the power had been cut: a good ten.
Minimum number of strangers with their hair in my mouth at any one time: 4
Catalogue of injuries recieved: one cigarette burn, three bruises in pleasingly aesthetic formation (three pound coins in the pocket of stupidly tight jeans) and one little toe mangled by mysterious cause.
Number of gropes, slaps, pinches and otherwise unwanted sexual attention endured: 0. None! For the first time in as long as I can recall, I went unmolested at a show! Woo!
Colour of liquid sloshing around in shoes by the end of the evening: camel
Overall mark for the gig: 9 out of 10. One point lost for the unspeakable abberation that is Ally Pally as a venue for an event of this kind.
