*swoon*
posted by Jack | 27 March 2007The pond was massive. I zoomed across it and landed eye first on a handle bar. There was blood everywhere. My dad panicked and stuck my face in the pond. I nearly drowned!

Toes, right and left feet: cats, two, insane
posted by Meesha | 27 March 2007Every finger, hands, arms, shins, knee (left): poor eyesight, carelessness, alcohol
Nipples, left and right: love bites
Dammit, *I* was gonna do Evil Knievel!
In truth, one scar on middle finger of right hand from a "ohh it's THAT sharp" knife, and one faint scar down the left side of my face next to my eye from a girls nail (in the playground). Boring life.
posted by Gordon | 27 March 2007Nothing much -
Actually, no, I lie, emo!scars (compasses: sharper than you might think) all up left arm, across stomach, and both legs. Not right arm, though.
What else... left knee. Running along stony path and inexplicably failed to notice bicycle standing in front of me. About ten.
Left elbow, same reason.
Anything on my right side...?
posted by Anonymous | 27 March 2007Oh, yes, right upper arm, alcohol.
I've just catalogued all of mine and haven't found any that are all that interesting...
I think a prize could be awarded for quantity if nothing else. High lights would have to be: massive gash (eh hem) on my right shin from a concrete block that refused to take my 7yr old weight; one on my right hip from falling over in the playground while wearing ridiculous black plimsoles with no grip; the one on my left eyebrow from chasing after my sister only to have her shut a door in my face with the door handle at just the wrong height.
Other sources include bicycling accidents, cups of tea, a rocking chair, TB jab and a pencil case...
Maybe I should make up some interesting stories...?
posted by Jon | 27 March 2007All mine are on the inside.
posted by overnight | 27 March 2007Five scars on forehead, all in the same place. It's like my forehead has a homing device embedded in it aimed straight at the ground.
And my finger hurts a bit at the moment.
posted by Timbo | 27 March 2007forehead - bending over to pick up soap in the shower whilst hungover and whacking head on windowsill.
shin - running for bus, jumping on, aiming too low
Not so much daredevil like Andre as a total malcoordinated klutz.
What, pray tell, is a suicide suspension? I'm dying to know.
posted by annie | 27 March 2007Suicide suspension
posted by Jack | 27 March 2007Right then.
*rubs hands in glee, yet decisively*
I have a scar.
It's just above where my right knee used to be.
Which, in turn, is just above where the rest of my right leg used to be.
Outdo that, anyone.
No?
Right. I win. Ha.

flipoff-finger, right hand, cut to the bone during ill-advised paper mache experiment involving dull steak knives & overproof vodka
behind the right ear, right above the hairline, bit itchy at times, alien abduction

That is my absolute all-time favourite Pulp song, Jack. Well done. I hope you acquired injury whilst moshing.
Anyway...
Upper bridge of nose/forehead - head over bike handlebars at campsite in Cotswolds.
posted by Morgan | 27 March 2007Knee - tripped over one of those loopy jumprope things you put on your ankle, with a glittery bell on it. Anyone remember those?
Left forearm (inside) - misadventure in teenage self-harm; I managed ten seconds with a Lady Bic, then decided it was too painful and not bringing me any kind of release whatsoever, despite what Shout magazine said.
Right hand palm - crescent shaped scar from jumping off playground stairs backwards in misguided attempt to fly, aged 6
Head - small scar on scalp from similar incident involving a climbing frame in Wales, aged 7ish
Back of right hand - cat scratch, 8ish
Right shin - run over by motorbike, aged 11
Heart - innumerable, mostly healed - ongoing.
PS have acquired ukulele and am working on scarring the tips of my left hand fingers with the strings. :)

hands/arms - numerous current scars - the joys of being stepmother to 4 cats
Fractures - dam big dent on left forehead (note to self: always release the tension first before unclipping a retractable clothesline), right arm, left litle finger.
oddly, the ones I have are quite similar to yours, though not as widespread:
right knee (although I did get swept out to sea when I was 7, this one was acquired courtesy of a flying football boot spike attached to a yeti)
left temple (scratched chicken pox too)
top of right forearm (throwing a broken mirror into a skip, which curiously doesn't hurt at all, such is the surgical precision of broken glass on tiny nerves)
right palm (lodged grain of sand after jumping from a playground swing, twenty years on, it has the appearance of a tiny cat's bottom)
left thumb (missing edge while slicing an onion)

lower lip - small scar, alcohol
do broken teeth count ?
left of forehead - age 7, running into a wall whilst covering my eyes with red celophane in my first attempt at looking at the world through rose coloured glasses, or plastic as the case may be
posted by Pip | 28 March 2007right of forehead - age 5, running into a wall that was looking at me funny
left ear - age 10, decided to try and pierce my ear with a piece of wood that was actually part of a bonfire in the back paddock. mixed results
right nipple - age 3, trying to ride a big kids bike without training wheels
lopsided upper lip - age 9, trying to do gymnastics in the door frame leading to tooth through lip syndrome. several attempts at reconstructive surgery have failed to help so when I smile I look kind of a little crazy. A good heads up for people who have yet to realise that I am in fact a little crazy
thumb of right hand - age 16, boy falling on me
In descending order of size:
Lower back: approx 4" scar from operation on vertibrae

Little toe, left foot: 1/2". Unknown origin
Bottom left of lip: small scar from being kicked in face playing rugby at school (by one of my own players)
Forehead: small chicken-pox reminder
Left far-side of mouth: small scar. Attempt to run through hole in fence thwarted by horizontal wire at mouth-height.
Oooh snap on the lower navel - mine was a laparoscopy.
Does yours look like a botched navel piercing? Mine does and it's always annoyed me - but that may be because they had to pull an abcess back out of the healing wound and made a bit of a mess of it.
Mmmmm. Nice :)
posted by em | 29 March 2007Mine actually looks quite neat - a little centimetre long line with three dots where the stitches were either side.
For the hassle I went through to get the op, it wants to me a blasted cute scar!
posted by Jack | 30 March 2007Bottom lip, small scar from when I fell flat on my face and became one with the carpet - too young to know what age I was.
posted by Ariel | 31 March 2007Left leg, horse riding scar from summer camp when I was 9.
Right arm, small scar from when my mother grabbed me fiercely and inserted her nails into my skin - I was 14. She slapped me so hard she also sent my glasses flying that time.
Left hand, little finger - almost invisible scar from when I opened a tin of tuna and opened my finger at the same time - I was 15 or thereabouts.
Plus those emotional scars that only the trained eye can see.
Right ring finger - scar between first and second joint as a result of a vicious attack by a killer rabbit at age nine.
posted by Gwen | 31 March 2007Think you know all of them, but:

Right Thumb - age 11, fell through glass table
Forehead - age twenty fucking two, chicken pox
Right Eyebrow x 2 - age 17+ from retired piercing,
Upper and Lower Lips - ditto, and prolly septum too, but I don't spend too much time looking up my own nose. Ditto ears, various
Left Nipple - age 17, incident involving fresh nipple piercing, squirty cream, parent's bathroom and enthusiastic ex
Right and Left Forearms - age 17+, moderate self harm
Right and Left Thighs - age 28, severe self harm
And, more happily, Upper and Lower Back - age 23? electro-cautery brandings
Pubis and Upper Thighs - age 25, scalpel scarification
What interesting and dangerous lives we lead!

posted by JG | 1 April 2007Left hand palm - fell off the steps that allowed kids at the swimming-pool reach the bar so they could spend their parents' hard-earned money on sweets.
Left arm - A class mate decided it would be fun to poke me with a piece of rope that had just been cut with the air of a lighter when we were making tennis nets for art class in 8th grade. Tennis nets are the finest example of art.
